A Few More Christmas Highlights

Here is Mary Martin with Santa this year. I was the big talker who said, "She will do fine, I just know it. She'll go to anyone!" And we see how she proved me wrong!
Here is our Christmas card. It was by Inviting Company. I forgot to put return addresses on 95 of our 100 cards, so if you didn't receive one and you thought you would have, it is probably lost in mail-land. I addressed them in such a rush, I'm sure I made mistakes! My mom made this dress for Mary Martin's baby dedication. I just love it and was thrilled it still fit for the picture. I'm doing almost anything to avoid putting up Christmas decorations right now, as you may have guessed by my 86 posts in the past 2 days! :)

Faithful friends who are dear to us....

Ok, I'll stop with the Christmas song titles. But this is one of my oldest friends Alison Black Brown and her little girl Anna Cate. Alison and her sister Catherine came to visit us the day after Christmas so Anna Cate and Mary Martin could meet! She is adorable. I hope they will be big buddies like Alison and I are one day. Anna Cate is bound to have a great personality, because she has the funniest dad and sweetest mom ever!

Over The River & Through The Woods

After we had breakfast and opened gifts at the Booker's Christmas morning, we drove to my mom's in Monroeville. We made it there by lunch, to see my brother Scott and Tommy and my mom and dad. Here is George Robert opening a gift appropriately wrapped in John Deere paper. In case you didn't know, my husband has a small obsession with tractors. He says that's why he became a doctor-to support his tractor habit.
My parents got him a t-shirt quilt made from his old fraternity t-shirts. He loved it. I think he wants it to be our new bedspread :0
That evening we drove 30 minutes to my aunt's house to have Christmas with my Granny and my mom's brothers and sisters. This is MM with my cousin's little boy John Adams, they were supposed to be born within a couple of days of each other, but MM made an early appearance.

Here Comes Santa Claus

Santa was good to Daddy, too! We can hardly see him behind all those boxes! He was good to me, too, I just happen to be holding the camera so you can't see my 'haul'. Thanks to JuJu and Papa, DeDe and Shug for the GREAT stuff!!
Her feet don't quite reach the pedals, but she LOVES her tricycle. It's so neat. We love the push bar in the back!
"ooh-wee!" our favorite new word. but I think it applies here!

Is all this really for ME??

Here we are, just waiting to tear into those gifts Santa left! Notice I am trying to include more photos with George Robert.. that way when I refer to "our" blog, he won't say, "You mean YOUR blog."

Merry Christmas!

Notice how I am sitting on the table! Gotta love Grandma's house!!
Christmas Eve at the Booker's

We had a great Christmas. Mary Martin had so much fun seeing family and meeting several cousins and aunts for the 1st time. She didn't really enjoy opening the presents, but she sure enjoyed playing with them! Both my parents and George Robert's parents did way too much in the way of gifts, but we surely appreciate everything!!!

MM's 1st Christmas Party!

I think she had fun. I wasn't there, but her shirt looked like she had fun. There were rainbow colored spots all over from the sprinkles. And she wasn't at all hungry at supper time! I get so excited over these little milestones...I'm sure all mommies do. Also, we went back to the ENT for a checkup after the tubes, and her ears look great. YEA!

Happy Birthday Hollie!

This is one of the best friends a girl could have. We lived together in Bham before I got married, and we had so much fun. We also worked together at Chelsea Elementary. So we lived, carpooled, worked, ate dinner, shopped, and mostly acted silly together. And to have spent such an exorbitant amount of time together, we never argued! Happy Birthday! (hollie with her niece mattie claire, and clifford the big red dog)

Coming....May '08... A little boy!

Our DEAR DEAR friend Missy, is expecting a little baby, and we found out yesterday that it's a boy! Congratulations!! Here she is above holding a whopping 3 pound Mary Martin in the NICU. See, she's already a pro! Sadly that is the most recent picture I could find of her! I've got to do better taking pictures!

Jingle Bells

Mary Martin's daycare, Rigecrest Baptist, did their Christmas program Friday. It was precious! The one's and two's wheeled in the sanctuary in their bye-bye buggy and sat on stage to "sing" jingle bells. Mary Martin had lost her bells somewhere along the way, but she shook her little arm and 'danced.'

Christmas Card Pictures... aaahhh!

We probably did 5 photo shoots before we finally got 'the one' for the card. I was really about to get stressed. Yesterday our digital camera even started making this grinding noise (not good) and shut off. George Robert had the screwdriver and was just about to take it apart, and he banged with his hand a couple of times, and it's been fine since! I was praying real hard that it would be ok! Here are a few of our pics we didn't choose. The one we chose is in yet another outfit!

Halloween!

I have to go back in time a little bit and show how cute MM was in her Halloween costume! October 31 is a VERY special day for us because it was the day MM got to come home from the hospital! She wasn't supposed to even be born until November 30, but she decided to come on September 19. After a 6 week stay in NICU, we got to bring her home. She is a living, breathing miracle. I can't begin to explain how much of a growing experience this was. It has forever changed who I am, and how I view everything! God kept His hand on her the whole time and and gave me strength I never thought possible. People we didn't even know were praying for us!

What a difference a year makes!

Most of you know Mary Martin was a preemie. Last Thanksgiving she was 9 weeks old, and weighed 5 pounds! As you can see she has really done some catching up. She is trying to walk, she can say 8 words (4 of which can only be understood by her parents and grandparents) and she is just hilarious. I made her picture last year by these little Indian figurines so I could compare her size to this year. I didn't get a picture, but she was throwing those things all over the place! Here we are this year having Thanksgiving at 'the farm' with GR's family. I had so much to be thankful for this year!

Finally taking the plunge!

I'm finally taking the plunge into the blogging world! I have so much fun looking at my friends' blogs, that I decided we needed one!
