Lots of "firsts" in 2008

Here is MM in her very 1st pair of blue jeans. She had to have them to go with this precious sweater that her Uncle Scott got her in Madrid, Spain. She looks adorable if I do say so myself...
This was January 16th after school. Mrs. Tameka fixed her hair at school that day. Her first ponytail! How cute.
Here we are on MLK day at the parade in Monroeville, AL (my hometown). The parade is on the town square where my mom's shop is, so we just stepped outside to watch the bands- MM's first parade. Notice the courthouse behind us- it is the "old courthouse" where To Kill A Mockingbird was filmed!
Here she is with her first moonpie! She liked it, too. If you are not one of the grandparents you are probably falling asleep by now. It's hard to see but she also has on a strand of Mardi Gras beads and a little crown on her head--all things we caught at the parade.

I've been tagged...

Christina tagged me to write 7 random things you probably don't know about me...
1. I can watch a movie once and quote just about the entire thing back to you. My husband has this ability also. So if your cable goes out, call us over, and we can re-enact any movie or television show we have both seen.
2. I love dogs. I'd have 10 if my yard were bigger. Don't let your dog out of your yard....I'll pick him up!
3. I do accents. I love to imitate the way people talk, in a fun way, not a mean way. If there is a detectable regional dialect, I will imitate it. I always do the 'voices' when i tell a story.
4. The children's novel "A Cricket in Times Square" moves me to tears every time I read it aloud to my students-when Chester Cricket leaves Harry Cat and Tucker Mouse to go back to the country. Some of my favorite novels are children's books.
5. I love to sing. *note* I did not say I am a great singer. I just love to sing. I sing to my miniature captive audience all the time, George Robert and Mary Martin.
6. I know a lot about sports. My husband sleeps with the tv on ESPN, so I've been absorbing SportsCenter throughout the night for almost 3 years.
7. I knew after my first date with George Robert that I would marry him. People would tell me, "when you know, you know." And they couldn't explain it, but when you experience it you really know!
Now I tag Cindy and Jenny

Happy New Year!

Most people start the new year with a vow to start eating healthy. So.. let's start with some Dale's! Yes, drink it straight from the bottle. (the top is on, but she gets her sticky little mitts on that bottle every time the refrigerator door is open!)
Then let's have some.... hot dogs, Miracle Whip and what the heck, let's throw on some Pick-a-Peppa sauce! And If my mom will help me, I'll have some of these pickled peppers too.
Well, the jar was too heavy, so I'll just have some dog food. And yes folks, we have a climber. She got a little table and chairs for Christmas and all she wants to do is stand in the chairs and sit on the table!!!
We LOVED the game! But we are hoping this new offensive coordinator will help us have a better season next year. That way GR and I can stop referring to the glory days of 2004 when we were undefeated. And if you have spent any time around me, I've probably said something about it. :) p.s. guess who found photo shop?
She looked so cute in her little uniform. Her daddy just loved it. She didn't make it to midnight (nor did we) but she did party until about 9:00. That's 2 hours past her bedtime. My New Year's Resolutions by the way (just so my friends can hold me accountable) are: 1. Read the Bible through on Stan's Plan Our Pastor started a church-wide plan for those who would like to participate. 2. Stay organized (if you know me at all, you know I can be a little... er... scatter-brained) 3. Stay on top of things. I have a tendency to be like the ostrich and stick my head in the sand if there is something unpleasant to be done or dealt with. Then it just gets worse! And my prayer for the New Year for all of my friends and family is this: "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with Hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13
